Fall into water

This happened to me when I was in the primary school. It was a summer afternoon. I was walking home after school with my friends when we saw a small pool. The weather was too hot so we decided to play around the pool. We thought the cool water would probably keep us comfortable.

After a while we began to play a game which is called 'Police Catch Thief'. I would be the police, my friend would be the thief. The rule of this game was the thief runs ahead and the police chase behind until the police catch the thief.

As the game started I realised I had made a mistake. My friend was good at running but I was not. We had been running around the pool for several minutes but I still cound not approach him any more. As I felt hopeless I saw a wood block floating on the pool. I stepped on it without thinking and attempted to take a short cut. The result we can imagine is I fell into the water. We were frightened. Fortunately, the pool was not deep so I could pull myself up to the land. I was safe but my clothes were thoroughly wet and dirty. I felt frightened again because my parents would be waiting for me at home......
